The SKYCAST-C from Cinelex is a compact CRMX transmitter that plugs into an iPad or iPhone using USB-C. Slyyd requires fixtures to be patched into an sACN Connection in order to use the SKYCAST. For help settings up an sACN Connection in Slyyd, see the Connections article.
There are a few additional steps to take when using the SKYCAST-C with Slyyd:
The SKYCAST-C’s default In/Out Mode is Art-Net, which will need to be changed to sACN in order to work with a Slyyd sACN Connection. To make this change:
It may be necessary to disable Wi-Fi on the device running Slyyd in order for Slyyd to connect to the SKYCAST-C. The orange ‘DMX’ LED will light when the SKYCAST is receiving DMX data from Slyyd. If the orange LED is not lit, disabling Wi-Fi can help force the Apple device to use the correct network connection.
It is usually necessary to disable any VPN services in order to propperly send sACN over a Wi-Fi or Ethernet. In some cases, rebooting the device after disabling the VPN is necessary. Make sure VPNs are disconnected when expereincing trouble sending data to fixtures.
The last step is to link the desired fixtures to the SKYCAST-C.
